About Getty's Tree Service

From the Catskill waterfront the Rip Van Winkle Bridge carries the morning light across the Hudson, and the village streets beneath it are lined with maples that have outlasted the traffic. Getty's Tree Service keeps them in trim — lifting a low limb off a sidewalk, pruning back growth that has crowded a second-story window, taking out the cracked wood before the next front arrives. A removal on a village lot is a slow, roped-down affair between a porch and a garage. Spring fronts push up the river valley and leave the yards scattered; the storm damage cleanup puts them right, down to the last raked corner. By the time the light goes gold over the escarpment, the block is clear and level again.
