About Davis Property Maintenance

A squall coming off the mountains reaches Catskill Creek before it reaches town, and by the time it crosses Main Street the streetlights are just cones of moving white. Davis Property Maintenance is out in that — plowing drives and lots, opening walks and steps, laying down salt on the pitched driveways that this village has in abundance. Night work has its own rhythm: headlights, the scrape of the blade, banks stacked where they won't blind anyone backing out in the morning. Storms here can turn to sleet halfway through, so a property often gets a second pass before dawn to keep the ice from setting up hard. When the sky clears over the river and the bridge lights come back, the drives are already black and open.
