Two seasons hold this stretch of the Hudson's east bank, and both ask for the same steadiness. In summer Superior Landscaping & Snow Removal LLC is out on the lots above Schodack Landing while the light goes long and gold over the water — mowing, trimming, edging along walks, keeping beds tidy, hauling off what spring and fall leave behind. In winter the same ground gets plowed and shoveled and treated against ice, driveways and walkways cleared where the cold pours down off the ridge. The pleasure is the same in both directions: stripes laid straight across a yard in July, a driveway scraped to bare pavement in January. Castleton-on-Hudson is a small place, and it notices such things.
