South Bristol hangs on the hillside above Canandaigua Lake, where the lawns are more slope than yard and the water below changes color four times before lunch. Perennial Lawn and Landscape mows and trims those pitched properties — the lakeside lots stacked down toward the shore, the wooded lots climbing into the Bristol Hills where the mowing line meets the treeline. Cutting on grade is its own skill; the stripes have to run with the hill or the whole lawn looks tired. Fall brings the color down off the ridge and then, a week later, all of it onto the grass, which is when the cleanups begin in earnest. Standing at the top of a finished slope with the lake laid out below is a fair trade for the climb.
