Saturday morning in Allentown: iron fences, brick walks, and front lawns roughly the size of a bedspread, each one visible from the sidewalk to anybody who passes. Mr. Lawncare cuts those, trims the strip along the fence pickets, edges the walk, and clears the yard out at either end of the season. Small ground makes every detail load-bearing — one ragged corner and the whole yard reads unfinished. Get it right and a century-old block sits up a little straighter. That is reason enough to keep the blades sharp.
