Jacob's Snow Removal

About Jacob's Snow Removal

Snow in Brooklyn is a sidewalk problem before it is anything else — the stoop, the four feet of pavement out front, the corner where a curb cut disappears under a plow's leavings. Jacob's Snow Removal works that ground: shoveling walks and steps, clearing driveways and small lots, cutting a path to the hydrant and scattering salt so the ice never gets a start. The good hour is the one before daylight, when the avenue is still hushed and a block of clean concrete opens up behind you, ready for people heading to the train. City snow gets heavy fast and gets dirty faster, so the work is timed to keep ahead of the melt-and-freeze rather than fight it after. Every cleared stoop is one neighbor who can leave the house without thinking twice, which is exactly the intention.
