South Country Road has carried traffic past these dooryards since long before the lawns were planted, and every November it fills curb to curb with maple and oak. South Country Landscaping, Inc runs the season out along it — leaves blown, raked and hauled, gutters of grass cleared, beds cut back, and one final mow to leave the turf short for winter. Come April the same route runs in reverse: debris off, edges recut, mulch down, mowing started again. Between those bookends it is weekly cutting, trimming and edging all summer long. An old road deserves yards that look the part, and that is the standard held here.
