Black River is a walkable grid of a village with the river doing all the talking behind it, and in July the yards here are small, green, and worth doing right. Little guys lawn care mows, trims and edges those lots, clears leaves once the maples let go, and puts the beds down at the end of the season. Sidewalk edges get a real line, and the strip between the walk and the curb does not get skipped. On a warm evening, with the water loud past the bank and the ball field lit, a freshly cut street is a good thing to look at. Serving Black River and the nearby hamlets along the river road.
