Powell's Plowing and Lawn Care

About Powell's Plowing and Lawn Care

When the wind sets up out of the southwest across Chautauqua Lake, Bemus Point gets the kind of snow that arrives sideways and does not stop for a day and a half. Powell's Plowing and Lawn Care works those storms end to end, plowing driveways and lakeside lanes, opening walks and steps, laying down salt where the shore ice makes everything glassy. Cottage roads narrow fast once the banks build up, so the plowing is done with an eye to where the next storm's snow will go. Mornings after a big one are the best part of the job: the lake steaming, the ferry crossing shut down for the season, and every drive on the route open before breakfast. That is the whole promise — you get out when you need to.
