Bedford Village keeps its green at the center of everything — a triangle of grass with the old white courthouse looking over it, fog still lying low at seven in the morning. AG Gardening works the properties that spill outward from that green, up the lanes where stone walls run under the maples. Mowing is done in clean unbroken passes, trimming taken right to the wall line, so a lawn reads as one sheet of color from the road. Autumn arrives here all at once, and the cleanups arrive with it: beds cut back, leaves gathered and carried off, everything squared away ahead of the first hard frost. It is ordinary work done attentively, and a whole street looks better for it.
