North of the city the ground drops away into the black muck flats toward Montezuma, and on a July noon the sky over them is enormous and the heat has nowhere to hide. Auburn lawns feel that heat too, and Shaw Lawn Care & Landscaping cuts them accordingly — blade set higher through the dry weeks so the roots keep their shade, then back down once the rain returns. Weekly mowing, trimming worked around trees, posts and foundations, and a cut border along the walk make up the rest of it. Twice a year a cleanup clears out whatever the beds and lawn have collected. Done right, midsummer never shows on a lawn at all.
