The Erie Canal runs straight through Arcadia, and in Newark it lies calm enough on a June morning to hold the whole sky upside down. Arcadia Outdoors works the properties along that flat green corridor — mowing on a weekly schedule, trimming and edging, mulch beds refreshed, cleanups in spring and again when the leaves let go. Wayne County soil grows grass the way it grows everything else, generously and all at once, so the schedule never really slackens between May and October. A finished lawn here reads like the towpath itself: level, tidy, running clean to the edge. Arcadia, Newark, and the towns along the canal.
