Lake Ontario builds its bands out over open water and aims them straight at Amboy, and some nights the snow stacks up faster than anybody can measure it. T@JSNOWPLOWING runs against that — out at three in the morning with the plow lights on, opening driveways and turnarounds so the first car of the day gets out without a fight. Tug Hill weather means repeat trips through one storm, drifting along the field edges, and banks that have to be pushed back before there's nowhere left to put them. There's a real pride in a driveway scraped down to pavement while the house is still dark. Shoveling and salting finish it: the walk, the steps, and the patch of ground in front of the door where a person actually stands.
