When the wind sets in from the northwest, Lake Ontario hands Albion its winter in long grey bands that march down Route 98 and refuse to quit for hours. Dig-It Construction & Landscaping meets that head-on — plowing driveways and lots, clearing walkways to the step, and laying salt where ice wants to set up in the tire tracks. The odd hours are the good ones: two or three in the morning, the village blue and empty, the blade throwing a white wall into the yard. By the time coffee is on somewhere, the pavement is black again and the day can start on time. Lake-effect country, met one driveway at a time.
