The red-brown sandstone quarried around Albion built half the village — courthouse walls, church fronts, and curbstones that still hold their line around Courthouse Square. BL Landscape works among that stonework the whole year through. In the growing months it is mowing, edging where turf meets walk and drive, and cleanups that leave beds cut sharp against the grass; in winter it is plowing and shoveling, opening driveways and paths while the streetlights are still doing the work of morning. Orleans County weather arrives off the lake without much announcement, so the blade goes on before the sky says anything. A drive cleared to bare pavement is its own kind of welcome home.
