Turf & Snow

About Turf & Snow

North of the city the lots widen and old oaks throw shade across half of Loudonville's lawns by two in the afternoon. Turf under a canopy is a different assignment — thinner, slower, hungrier for light — so cutting height, seed and feeding all shift with what is overhead. The rest stays steady: mowing on a rhythm, edging drives and walks, trimming the fence lines, cleanups in spring and fall, leaves gathered once they come down in earnest. Newtonville and the streets off Loudon Road grow good grass when someone pays attention to what each individual yard is asking for. A lawn that holds even color from its sunniest corner to its shadiest is worth every extra pass it takes.
