About L.A. Landscapes

In October the canyons above town turn while the streets below are still mowing, and the first hard frost is never far behind. L.A. Landscapes reads that turn of the year closely — the last cuts taken a shade lower, leaves and stems cleared off the turf, beds tidied before the ground goes stiff. The rest of the calendar keeps a plainer rhythm: mowing on schedule, edging along walks and drives, trimming, feeding, and holding weeds back from the lawn. The growing season in Winnemucca is short and the winters are genuinely cold, so the aim is grass that goes under clean and comes out in spring ready to move. There is a particular pleasure in the last raked yard of autumn — mower lines still visible, everything put away.
