Better Green

About Better Green

Whitney climbs gently toward its own mesa, where pale ledges of rock hold the night's coolness above the rooftops until the sun finds them. Better Green works the streets below with a mower, a trimmer, and a real interest in the line where turf meets concrete. Spring here is a handoff — winter rye easing off, Bermuda waking from the root — and the lawn gets fed and watched through the change so nothing goes thin in the middle of it. Weeds come out of the beds before they seed, edges are cut straight, and the cuttings are blown off the walk instead of left to drift. By mid-morning the yard looks like somebody decided it should.
