Sunbasin Landscape & Nursery

About Sunbasin Landscape & Nursery

Before the first boats push off, Lake Tahoe can lie so still off the Stateline shore that the peaks across the water hang upside down in it. Sunbasin Landscape & Nursery tends lawns in this lakeside town, where July mornings begin with a chill and turn to clear, high-altitude sun by ten. At that elevation the sun works fast on grass and exposes every ragged margin, so the care comes down to regular mowing, close trimming and keeping each lawn even and full through the brief warm months. Looked after this way, a Stateline yard becomes a green room under an enormous sky, framed by the same startling blue that draws people to the basin. It is a lucky thing to tend grass a short walk from water that clear.
