About Valley Environmental

After a hard rain the washes around Moapa Valley run brown for an hour and then go quiet, leaving silt on the driveways and tamarisk trash caught in every fence line. Valley Environmental works in that aftermath and in the ordinary weeks between, mowing lawns, cutting edges, trimming out the corners a mower skips. Cleanups clear the sediment and the blown-in debris; weed control keeps the volunteers from setting up shop along the borders. Feeding the turf on a regular schedule is what makes it thick enough to hold together in the first place. Dusk is the good hour for a last look — long shadows across a clean, level yard, the valley cooling around it.
