On Deck: Gutters, Fence, Pavers & Landscaping

About On Deck: Gutters, Fence, Pavers & Landscaping

By November the cottonwoods along Carson City's older streets have emptied themselves into everyone's gutters, and the first real storm off the Sierra finds every place the water can't go. On Deck: Gutters, Fence, Pavers & Landscaping handles that whole outside layer of a property — gutters cleared, fence lines set right, paver walks and patios laid and kept level, lawn and landscape maintained around them. It's satisfying work in cold, clean air: a downspout running free, a gate that latches, a walkway with no rocking stone in it. The pieces are separate jobs but they add up to one thing, which is a house that sheds weather and looks composed doing it. Come spring the lawn goes back to green against edges that held all winter.
