Floyd's Yard

About Floyd's Yard

Late afternoon in Ranchos de Taos turns the adobe the color of bread crust, and the shadows off the old walls stretch long across the grass. Floyd's Yard is out in that hour with the mower still warm, working the edges along walkways and driveway aprons. The job is plain and it is complete: cut, trim, edge, rake up, carry away what is left. Ground here goes from mud to dust in a single week, so an even, tended lawn reads as pure intention. Floyd's Yard keeps them reading that way, one visit after another, straight through the long Taos summer.
