Maintenance Yard

About Maintenance Yard

Come July, thunderheads build over the Jemez Mountains each afternoon, stride east across the valley, and drop a hard, sweet-smelling rain on Santa Fe around suppertime. Maintenance Yard handles lawn care through those monsoon weeks, when grass that sat still all June suddenly surges. A regular mowing schedule keeps the growth in hand, and trimming keeps gravel paths and walkways from vanishing under it. After the storm moves off, the clouds over the Jemez burn pink and the clipped lawn smells of rain-soaked earth. It is steady, week-by-week tending, and it leaves a yard crisp however hard the next storm falls.
