About Rio Grande Landscaping Inc

In April, water comes back to the Acequia Madre, the old mother ditch on Santa Fe's east side, slipping past apricot trees that have bloomed pink and white in a gamble against late frost. Rio Grande Landscaping Inc shares its name with the great river that runs west of the city, and its work here is lawn care for city yards. Spring in this valley is all about timing: the first mow once the green truly arrives, careful trimming along ditch banks and garden walls, beds cleared and readied. At noon the light is fierce and clean, and short grass beside running water looks like the whole season's promise in miniature. The water in that ditch belongs to a river system bound, in the end, for the Rio Grande itself.
