Under Atalaya the year keeps four faces, and a yard has to answer all of them. Four Season Garden Design tends the foothill yards on that whole calendar — mowing and edging through the growing months, shaping shrubs, weeding gravel and bed alike, clearing away the leaves and stems each turn of weather brings down. Keeping a garden for a year rather than for a week is what makes a small high-desert place feel composed instead of merely trimmed. The reward is a yard that looks intended in every month, including the brown ones.
