About Aspen Landscaping LLC

Late in September, Hyde Park Road climbs out of Santa Fe into stands of aspen that turn the mountainside to hammered gold, and Aspen Landscaping LLC carries that name down into the yards of the city. This landscaping business tends lawns at seven thousand feet, where thin air and hard sunlight ask a lot of every square of grass. The mowing is kept level and the trimming close, so a modest green plot reads clean against adobe and pea gravel. In the slanting afternoon light the cut rows show like brushstrokes, and the borders hold sharp where turf meets flagstone. Up the mountain the leaves will soon let go, but down here the lawn is left finished for autumn's last warm weeks.
