Yucca Yardworks

About Yucca Yardworks

Late spring in San Miguel brings the yuccas into bloom, tall stalks of creamy bells rising from the sandy slopes above the village like lanterns hung for a fiesta. Yucca Yardworks shares its name with that tough, graceful plant, and the work keeps the same temperament: yards kept neat and hardy, ready to stand up to sun, wind and dry spells. In the late afternoon, when the light slants across the washes and turns the sand the color of honey, a freshly tended yard looks entirely at home in this landscape. Mowing, trimming and general yardwork keep a property tidy without quarreling with the parched ground past the fence. It is yard care with desert roots, as sturdy as the bloom stalks on the hill.
