Rio Rancho Weed Cleanup

About Rio Rancho Weed Cleanup

Every July the thunderheads stack up in the afternoon, let go, and three weeks later half the empty lots in Rio Rancho are shoulder-high in kochia, Russian thistle and goatheads. Rio Rancho Weed Cleanup goes in after them — cutting overgrown lots back to open ground, pulling and treating weeds along fences and arroyo edges, and carrying the whole tangle away. The pleasure is in the before and after: a yard that swallowed a tennis ball at breakfast, walkable again by dinner. Out along the sandy channels near Willow Creek the tumbleweeds pile up and wait all winter for one good windy day, so the work is as much heading things off as cleaning them up. A homeowner comes back to bare, honest ground, which on this soil is exactly the point.
