About Dirty Gloves Landscaping

Come September the roasters turn their drums and the whole town smells like green chile and mesquite smoke. Dirty Gloves Landscaping works right through it — mowing, edging, trimming, weed control, and the unglamorous business of getting goatheads out of a yard before they find a bicycle tire. The name is literal. Caliche dust gets into everything, the puncturevine fights back, and a yard gets clean because somebody knelt down and made it clean. Autumn afternoons in Rio Rancho are the finest working weather there is, and there is real pleasure in standing up at the end of one with the gloves ruined and the lot spotless.
