About Drought Solutions

Water is the whole conversation out here. The playa lakes fill in a generous August and go to cracked caliche by spring, and a Portales lawn lives or dies on how it is handled in between. Drought Solutions leans straight into that: mowing high so the crown keeps its own shade, feeding at the right end of the season, checking sprinkler heads and coverage so nothing is spent on the sidewalk, and turning the hard thin strips over to rock and tough plantings where grass has simply lost the argument. They weed, they edge, they carry the trimmings away. A yard here can look good on far less water than people assume — it just has to be managed on purpose.
