Corrales Yard Cowboys

About Corrales Yard Cowboys

Out where the North Valley slips into Corrales, the lots still run long and green behind horse fences, and the ditch water comes down on its own schedule. Corrales Yard Cowboys work those deep lots the way they ask to be worked — mowed on the diagonal, trimmed clean along the adobe wall and the fence line, clippings hauled off instead of left to mat in the heat. Under old cottonwoods there is always more raking than anybody expects, and they do it right down into the corners a mower can never reach. Come evening the grass holds the low light for a while, and a yard that got its full attention looks it. That is the whole point of the job.
