Evergreen Turf

About Evergreen Turf

McIntosh sits high on the floor of the Estancia Valley, where the wind arrives with an agenda and the Manzanos stand off west like a long blue wall. Evergreen Turf works with that country rather than against it, mowing in the settled hour after the morning gusts lie down. Grass here earns every inch it grows, so the cut is kept honest: even height, clean borders along drives and walks, clippings cleared from the drive before the truck rolls. By late May a yard tended this way turns a deep, surprising green against all that pale grassland, and it holds through the summer. There is a plain good feeling in leaving a place looking cared for at 6,400 feet.
