About Dog Turtles LLC

Early on a Los Alamos morning the mesas are still holding their shade, and the first mower of the day carries a long way across the canyon. Dog Turtles LLC starts about then. Mowing, string trimming, edging, cleanup — the plain work that leaves a yard tended without announcing itself. Up here the grass grows between pines, in whatever flat the canyons allow, so every lot has its own shape and gets cut on its own terms. By the time the sun clears the rim the lines are laid in and the walks are swept. Cut grass and warm pine pitch: the smell of a morning that went right.
