The Organ Mountains catch first light well before Las Cruces does, their spires going rose while the valley below is still blue and cool. Atlas Irrigation starts its lawn routes inside that window, mowing while the air is kind and the grass is standing up straight. Trim work follows along block walls, gate posts and the ragged seam where turf meets desert gravel, with every edge cut to a crisp outline. Clippings are gathered and hauled, walkways blown clean, nothing left behind to track indoors. By mid-morning, when the heat has climbed over the Mesilla Valley, the yards behind them are already done and holding.
