Summer evenings on Riverside Drive move slow — low cars shining under the streetlights, the heat finally letting go, sprinklers ticking in the front yards along the way. JC Landscaping keeps a good many of those yards, mowing in the cool part of the day, edging the walks, running the trimmer down fences and around mailbox posts. Grass grows hard here in July and barely at all by November, so the schedule bends to the year: heavy cutting through the monsoon, cleanups when the cottonwoods let go, borders held tight the whole way through. The clippings leave with the crew. What remains is simple and good — an even lawn, a clean line at the concrete, and a yard that looks right from the street.
