About Johnny's Landscaping, Lawn Care, and More

Southeast of Deming the streets run out into the Rockhound foothills, where lawn ends and desert begins in the space of a few feet. Johnny's Landscaping, Lawn Care, and More works that boundary — mowing, trimming, edging, clearing overgrowth, keeping the gravel and the green on their own sides of the line. It is unglamorous work and satisfying for it: a mesquite pulled back off a driveway, a yard cut level, a walkway swept at the end of the day. Come evening, when the Floridas turn blue and the heat lets go, a finished property out here looks like a small held-together thing at the edge of a very big one.
