About Shot's Tree Trimming Inc

On the Llano the wind is the weather. Clovis judges a tree by whether it keeps its shape against a spring gale that comes up brown out of the west, and by whether it stands when a January norther drops in overnight. Every elm and locust in these neighborhoods was put there on purpose — a windbreak, a shade line down a driveway, a green edge against all that open plain — and pruning keeps that purpose alive. Trimming pulls the crossing limbs and deadwood out early, so there is less for the wind to find. When the storm gets there first, cleanup clears the yard, the alley and the sidewalk; when a tree is past saving, removal is close work between a house and a neighbor's fence, done with the freight trains still working the yard down the line.
