Conant's yard service

About Conant's yard service

October evenings are the reward for the summer here: the air cools by six, the Franklin Mountains go rose in the south, and a mown yard holds onto the last of the light. Conant's yard service spends that season on cleanup — raking, hauling leaves and spent growth, cutting back shrubs that ran wild in the rain, giving the grass its final tidy passes before it turns dormant and straw-gold. Edges get re-cut where summer blurred them, and the rock beds get weeded down to bare stone. Nothing is left slumped along the curb for the next wind to open. It is unhurried work, and a Chaparral street of finished yards is a good thing to drive down at dusk.
