About NORTENIO CONSTRUCTION

Pale sandstone mesas rise above Blanco, a small community strung along the San Juan River in the Four Corners country of northwestern New Mexico, with a green line of cottonwoods and farms tracing the water below. NORTENIO CONSTRUCTION does construction and outdoor work here, in a valley shaped by the river and the wide dry country around it. Building in this place means dealing with sand, clay and rock, and with a climate that swings from sharp winter mornings to hot, cloudless summer afternoons. Whatever the job, the aim stays the same: something solid and level, set on ground the wind and water keep reshaping. When the low sun sets the mesas glowing and the work stands finished, Blanco feels a bit more like home.
