About Urban Earth Landscaping

Mid-city Albuquerque is a grid of modest lots, each one a small argument between gravel and grass, and Urban Earth Landscaping tends the grass side of it. Off Central near Nob Hill the yards are square and hemmed by sidewalk, block wall and driveway, so every pass of the mower has to answer to a hard line. Late afternoon is the hour for it, when the neon along old Route 66 has not warmed up yet and the light comes in low and gold across the trimmed turf. A city lawn asks for restraint more than reach: cut at the right height, run the trimmer tight to the wall, sweep the concrete so the border reads sharp from the street. Block by block through the mid-city neighborhoods, the work is regular, unhurried and easy to see from the sidewalk.
