Snow comes to Woodbury damp and heavy, carried up off the Delaware on a wind that smells like tidewater. Afines Landscaping LLC is out in it long before first light reaches the brick sidewalks of Broad Street, plowing driveways and opening the walks so a morning can start on time. Come April the same trucks trade blades for mowers, and the work turns to the steady green rhythm of a South Jersey summer: cut, trim, edge, repeat. There is a real satisfaction in a lawn that reads well from the street, and in a driveway that was bare black pavement while the block was still asleep. Two halves of one year, and a small business holding up its end of both.
