The old orchard rows at Kuser Farm Park look their strangest at midnight in a storm, every trunk half-white on the windward side. That is the hour Creech Landscape is usually out, working snow across White Horse while the town sleeps through it. Plowing here means going back more than once — the second and third pass, the drift that rebuilt itself against the garage door, the salt laid down before the melt can freeze into something meaner at dawn. Hamilton's storms rarely announce themselves politely; they turn from rain to sleet to snow somewhere around ten at night and mean it by two. The reward comes at sunrise, when a whole street of driveways sits open and dark and nobody has to think about it.
