About William Murtaugh Tree Service Westwood

An ice storm in Westwood announces itself around three in the morning: a crack, a pause, and then a limb down across the yard. William Murtaugh Tree Service Westwood works those mornings, cutting the broken wood off drives and walkways near Veterans Memorial Park and along the streets heading toward Emerson and Hillsdale. The rest of the year is the quieter half of it — pruning oak and ash while the crowns are bare, trimming back from porch roofs, and removing the trees the ice already condemned. A tree pruned in February is a tree that shrugs off the next glaze. Nothing about a driveway cleared before the school bus comes is showy, which is precisely why it is worth doing right.
