Sherwood Tree Services

About Sherwood Tree Services

By late October the oaks above Haskell turn the valley rust and copper, and then one week of wind takes the whole show down. Sherwood Tree Services works the streets that drop toward the Wanaque River, pruning the maples that crowd the wires and removing the trees whose roots have let go of the bank. They read a tree before they cut it — where the lean sits, where the rot went in, which branch is quietly carrying the others. After a wet early-winter snow bends the pines, they take out the broken tops and bring the yard back to lawn. A block where every crown has room to move is a block that gets through February without a single limb in the road.
