Sunday morning in the West Belmar corner of Wall Township is quiet enough to hear a mower running two streets over. Saint Jude Landscaping LLC spends its weeks in that neighborhood grain, modest lots and close fences and a great many corners, mowing, trimming, edging, mulching and clearing beds so small yards read as tidy rather than crowded. Fall cleanups matter especially here, since leaves bank against stoops and hedges and stay put until somebody moves them. The pace is unhurried, but the work is finished: nothing left on the walk, gates latched, the lawn even out to the curb line. Leaving a street a little better than you found it is its own kind of pay.
