In April the cherries around Verona Park go off all at once, petals on the lake path, the boathouse doubled in still water. Grove Landscaping starts its season in that same week — beds cleared of winter litter, lawns raked open, the first cut of the year that always feels like a reset. From there it is weekly mowing through the Verona streets, trimming around old stone and iron fence, edging the walks until every line is definite. Autumn brings the leaves down off the Watchung slope and the fall cleanup runs until the lawns are bare and ready for whatever comes. It is a small borough full of well-loved yards, and keeping them sharp makes for a good week's work.
