Towaco lies in the valley under Waughaw Mountain, where Montville's ridges hold the morning mist a little longer than the rest of Morris County does. Lawn World Inc. keeps the lawns in that pocket of town. The ground here is old orchard and glacial till, so grass comes in strong but uneven, which makes a level, well-timed cut worth real money to the look of a yard. Through the season the routine holds — mow, trim along the drive, blow the walks clear, and leave the place looking better than the weather did. By late October the oaks up on the ridge hand the town more leaves than anyone plans for, and clearing them is its own kind of ending.
