Fresh Lawn

About Fresh Lawn

The first real cut of May is the one everybody smells — the neighborhoods off Hooper Avenue go green all at once and the whole town seems to exhale. Fresh Lawn rides that surge with weekly mowing, trimming, edging and the cleanups that clear winter's leftovers out of the beds. Under Toms River's oaks grass grows unevenly, thick in the sun and thin in the shade, so cutting height gets thought about rather than guessed. A yard that looks intentional is mostly a yard someone visited on time, every time. By June the stripes are a habit and the street looks like summer.
