The first cut of the year is a small ceremony. Somewhere in April the ground firms up across the Somerset Hills, the grass comes on all at once, and Sikorski's Lawn Care makes the season's opening pass through The Hills — deck set a little high, winter thatch coming off, the lawn suddenly a color it has not been since October.
