Sikorski's Lawn Care

About Sikorski's Lawn Care

The first cut of the year is a small ceremony. Somewhere in April the ground firms up across the Somerset Hills, the grass comes on all at once, and Sikorski's Lawn Care makes the season's opening pass through The Hills — deck set a little high, winter thatch coming off, the lawn suddenly a color it has not been since October. After that it is weekly work through the long green months: mowing, trimming out fence lines and posts, edging drives and walks so the lawn keeps a boundary. The spring cleanup clears what the cold left behind; the autumn one takes the leaves off before they pack down. Out among the horse fences and hedgerows, a well-kept lawn belongs to a landscape that has always been kept. Doing it well is just joining in.
