About Tree Awareness Inc.

The morning after a storm, the farm roads out of Swedesboro are the brightest place in South Jersey — bare branches sharp against the sky, fields gone flat white, everything holding still. Tree Awareness Inc. spends the hours before that light arrives working the route, plowing driveways and lots, opening walkways, and salting the shaded stretches that will not thaw on their own. Snow is rare enough down here that it stops a whole town when it lands, so getting people moving again is most of the job. The satisfaction is specific and physical: the scrape of the blade, the last pass along the edge, a driveway squared off at the street. Then on to the next one, while the sun comes up over the fields.
